Claims Adjuster

Great Company for Stability and Learning in Insurance
Pros: I really value the supportive environment here. As a Claims Adjuster, I get a lot of help from my team, and the training programs are comprehensive. There are always opportunities to learn more about the insurance industry and different product lines. Travelers offers pretty good benefits, and it feels like a stable place to work, which is important. The hybrid work model in Hartford, CT, helps with work-life balance.
Cons: Sometimes, the promotion process can feel a bit slow, especially for individual contributors. It's a large company, so getting things approved can take a while. Also, while leadership is generally supportive, communication from upper management could sometimes be more transparent about company-wide changes.
Advice to Management: Keep investing in frontline leadership training to ensure consistent communication across all levels. Also, look into streamlining the internal promotion pathways for experienced individual contributors within the claims department.

Good Stability and Work-Life Balance in Insurance
Pros: Stability, learning, hybrid options, and a supportive team make Travelers a solid place to grow. I've found a great work-life balance as an Underwriter, especially with the hybrid arrangement. It's a professional environment in the insurance industry.
Cons: Promotions can feel a bit slow sometimes, and the approval processes for some tasks take longer than ideal. It's a big company, so some bureaucracy is expected.
Advice to Management: Continue to streamline internal processes to help speed up project timelines and perhaps explore clearer paths for career advancement, especially for high performers. Empowering teams with more decision-making authority could also be beneficial.

Solid, stable culture, but a bit slow
Pros: People are generally nice and helpful here. There's good job security, which is a huge plus in the insurance industry. The hybrid work model in the Hartford, CT office is pretty decent too, offering a good balance.
Cons: The company culture can feel really old-fashioned. Getting new tech ideas approved and implemented for Software Engineer roles takes forever. It's tough to drive change or innovate quickly, which can be frustrating.
Advice to Management: Please try to speed up decision-making, especially around adopting new technologies. Empower individual teams to innovate more without needing so many layers of approval. This would really help with employee morale in tech roles.
