Project Manager

Decent place for interactive media, but flexibility varies.

It's a busy agency that handles a lot of digital marketing projects. You learn a ton, especially if you're new to the interactive media space in Singapore. The team is generally pretty good, but work-life balance can be tough depending on project load.

Pros

They offer some hybrid work options, which is a plus for Project Manager roles, letting you balance client meetings with focused work. It's helpful for managing personal appointments without much fuss. The Singapore office has a solid vibe most days, and it's nice to see colleagues.

Cons

The remote work flexibility can disappear during crunch times for client services projects. You're often expected onsite for critical meetings even if you planned to WFH. It's tough when deadlines hit and your 40-hour week easily turns into 50+ hours.

Advice to Management

Try to set clearer boundaries for remote work, even during busy periods. It would really help with employee morale and burnout, especially for those in client-facing roles like Project Managers.

Solid Growth for Web Developers in Digital Agency
Pros: I've grown a lot as a Junior Web Developer at Activate Interactive in Singapore. It's a fantastic place for career growth, getting hands-on with diverse web development projects and learning new tech. My colleagues are supportive, always sharing knowledge. A good environment for a digital solutions agency.
Cons: Project deadlines sometimes mean longer hours. Inter-departmental communication could be smoother, and internal approval processes can feel a bit slow, affecting project flow.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining inter-departmental communication to improve project efficiency and explore solutions for managing peak project workloads more evenly to support employee work-life balance.

Okay Place, But Career Growth is Limited
Pros: You get to work on some cool interactive media projects. I learned a lot about new tech stacks from my peers. The team culture in the San Francisco office is pretty supportive, which is nice.
Cons: As a Software Engineer, the career path isn't clear at all. There aren't many opportunities for upward mobility or promotions. I found it tough to get formal training or development budget too.
Advice to Management: Please create clear promotion tracks for technical roles. Invest more in employee development and formal training programs. It would help a lot with retention.

Okay for junior UX, culture needs work
Pros: I enjoyed the creative challenges. As a UX Designer, I got to work on some cool digital projects. People on my immediate team were supportive, which helped with learning new design tools.
Cons: The company culture feels a bit cliquey sometimes. Communication from upper management isn't always clear, especially about project timelines. It made collaboration tough for new hires.
Advice to Management: Focus on clearer cross-team communication. Help integrate new hires better into the overall company culture. For interactive roles, strong internal communication is key.
