Apt Resources is excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced Director of Engineering to join a prestigious 5-star luxury hotel in Kuala Lumpur. As the Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing all engineering operations of the hotel, ensuring the highest level of functionality, safety, and comfort for guests and employees. You will lead a team of skilled engineers and technicians, manage maintenance programs, and implement innovative solutions to enhance the hotel's infrastructure and energy efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engineering strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the smooth operation of the hotel's infrastructure and facilities.
- Manage the maintenance and repair programs, ensuring all equipment and systems are in optimal condition.
- Supervise a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
- Oversee the planning and execution of renovation and construction projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and timelines.
- Implement energy-saving initiatives to promote sustainability and reduce operating costs.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with other departments to meet the hotel's operational goals and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in engineering, of which at least 5 years in the luxury hospitality industry in Malaysia.
- Must be fluent in Bahasa Malaysia
- Prior experience in a leadership role, managing a team of engineers and technicians.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale renovation and construction projects.
- Familiarity with energy-saving initiatives and sustainability practices.
- Sound understanding of relevant local regulations and compliance requirements.
