Job Description
A store Supervisor is a professional responsible for managing and overseeing the organization’s inventory. This includes identifying inventory needs, implementing policies and procedures for stock control, and ensuring that stock levels are maintained at optimal levels. You also responsible for handling supervisory level activities for one or more areas of the warehouse including: shipping, picking & packing, receiving, inventory control, warehousing and distribution functions for raw materials, in-process goods, released finished products, supplies and product configuration.
Responsibilities
- Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision.
- Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization.
- Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations.
- Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements.
- Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security.
- Manage stock control and reconcile with data inventory system.
- Monitoring inventory levels using software programs and initiating transportation or shipments when inventory levels become too low or high.
Liaise with clients, suppliers and transport companies. - Perform cycle counting and reconciliation procedures, ensuring frequency of inventory counts meet company and audit requirements.
- Handling custom clearance and shipment follow up for import and export.
Liaise with transporter and forwarder for delivery arrangement. - Ensure all discrepancies are investigated and reported accordingly.
- Corrective and preventive actions are to be documented for the discrepancies.
- Analyzing inventory data and providing regular reports (eg. monthly closing stock report) to upper management.
- Overseeing teams and staff, assigning staff schedules, organizing employee training and developing teamwork initiatives.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Manufacturing Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in business, logistics, systems engineering, supply chain management, inventory management or similar.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Solid knowledge of data analysis, inventory management software, and forecasting techniques.
- Proficient in current version of MS Word, Excel and Power Point for presentation and report.
- Ability to work with cross functional team at multi levels within the organization.
- Strong leadership with excellent interpersonal/ communication, coaching and conflict management skills.
- Must be action oriented, customer focused and proficient in decision making, problem solving, planning and organizing.
