Job Summary:
The QC Inspector is a critical member of the Quality Assurance team, responsible for ensuring that all products and materials meet the required quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. The inspector will conduct inspections, testing, and audits throughout the manufacturing process to identify and address any deviations from quality norms. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of quality control principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to use various inspection tools and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on incoming materials, work-in-progress, and finished products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
- Use precision measuring instruments and test equipment to conduct inspections and test products for quality and performance characteristics.
- Document inspection results, test data, and any non-conformances in the quality management system.
- Work with production and engineering teams to address quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Verify that all documentation, including inspection reports, test results, and certifications, is accurate, complete, and filed appropriately.
- Conduct first article inspections (FAI) and in-process audits to ensure compliance with quality plans and customer requirements.
- Participate in root cause analysis and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA) to prevent recurrence of defects.
- Assist in the development and revision of quality control procedures, work instructions, and inspection criteria.
- Calibrate and maintain inspection equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Stay updated with industry standards, quality regulations, and best practices in quality control.
- Train and guide production personnel on quality control procedures and the importance of adhering to quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or technical certification in Quality Control, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in a quality control role within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Knowledge of quality management systems, such as ISO 9001, and statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
- Proficient in the use of inspection tools and measuring equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality.
- Good communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams and document findings effectively.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
