As part of Accenture's Legal and Commercial Services (LCS) team, the Contract Associate Manager plays a key role in managing commercial and contractual matters throughout the contract lifecycle. This role partners closely with sales, delivery, finance, legal, and client stakeholders to maximize business value, manage contractual risks, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and Accenture policies.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting commercial outcomes across client engagements by providing contract management expertise during pre-sales, contract execution, and ongoing delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management
Manage client contracts and subcontracts throughout the entire contract lifecycle in accordance with Accenture policies, applicable laws, and client requirements.
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including Statements of Work (SOWs), Change Requests, Arrangement Letters, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Subcontracts, and contract amendments.
Ensure contractual documentation is accurate, commercially sound, and aligned with business objectives.
Implement and maintain contract management processes across assigned accounts or projects.
Commercial & Risk Management
Identify contractual and commercial risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
Escalate contractual issues promptly and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve commercial matters.
Partner with delivery and finance teams to manage contractual levers affecting revenue, cost, profitability, and compliance.
Prepare reports and documentation in accordance with contract management processes and project requirements.
Sales & Business Support
Support pre-award sales activities, including reviewing RFPs, preparing contractual responses, drafting commercial schedules, and participating in contract negotiations.
Provide commercial guidance to business stakeholders to support strategic decision-making and successful client engagements.
Develop a strong understanding of Accenture's service offerings and associated commercial considerations.
Stakeholder Management
Build trusted relationships with internal business leaders, legal teams, finance, procurement, delivery teams, and client counterparts.
Provide day-to-day contract management support to client engagement teams.
Demonstrate the value of the contract management function through proactive partnership and commercial advice.
Leadership & Team Development
Lead or participate in contract management activities across assigned projects, accounts, or portfolios.
Supervise, mentor, and coach junior contract management professionals.
Support performance management, capability development, and knowledge sharing within the contract management team.
Contribute to the development and delivery of commercial and contract management training.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in commercial contract management, preferably involving complex, high-value, or high-risk engagements.
Experience managing contracts across the full contract lifecycle, including drafting, negotiation, execution, change management, and contract administration.
Strong understanding of commercial contracting principles, contract management processes, and subcontracting practices.
Basic understanding of legal principles relating to commercial agreements and contract management.
Experience identifying contractual risks and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including legal, finance, procurement, sales, delivery teams, and clients.
Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent organizational, prioritization, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting technology, consulting, outsourcing, or professional services contracts.
Experience leading or mentoring contract management professionals.
Membership or certification with the International Association for Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM/WorldCC), National Contract Management Association (NCMA), or equivalent professional body.
