Good people, but job security is a worry

ACMobility is a decent place to work, especially if you value remote flexibility. However, the constant project changes and reorgs really make you question job security here, especially for those in technical roles.

Pros

I've learned a ton about the *mobility tech* space as a *Software Engineer*. The team is smart and collaborative, and the *remote work* flexibility is a huge plus, letting me work from Arizona.

Cons

There's just a constant feeling of uncertainty. Projects often get cut or totally change direction, which makes job security a real concern for *technical roles*. Frequent leadership changes at this *mid-sized tech company* don't help either.

Advice to Management

Focus on more stable project roadmaps and better communication about company direction. Transparency around organizational changes would really help with employee morale and job security concerns.

Great Place for Tech Professionals in Mobility
Pros: The collaborative team culture is a huge plus; colleagues are supportive, making complex automotive technology projects manageable. I've gained valuable skills in software development for mobility solutions. The competitive pay and solid benefits package truly stand out, offering financial stability. It's a great environment for career growth.
Cons: Some project timelines can get pretty demanding, leading to busy periods. Also, certain internal approval processes could be streamlined for better efficiency.
Advice to Management: Continue fostering the collaborative environment. Consider reviewing and streamlining some of the internal approval processes to improve project flow and try to better balance project timelines to avoid intense crunch periods.

Decent for Learning, But Growth Stalls Out
Pros: I've learned a ton about software development here, especially for junior technical roles in the transportation tech space. The team is pretty solid, and you get to work on real EV infrastructure projects. It's a good spot to build foundational skills.
Cons: Upward mobility is tough past a certain point, particularly as a Software Engineer in the San Francisco office. There aren't many clear paths for promotion to senior roles. I don't see much investment in long-term career development or advanced training.
Advice to Management: Please make the promotion criteria more transparent for technical roles. Invest in programs to help employees grow into senior positions; it feels like we hit a ceiling too soon. Clarify what's needed to advance.

Okay for now, but career path is fuzzy
Pros: You learn a lot about the EV charging infrastructure, which is cool for a software engineer. The team is solid, and you get to work on relevant projects in the clean energy sector.
Cons: There's not a lot of clear career growth here. For many software engineer roles, the promotion path just isn't visible in this mid-size tech company. It feels like you hit a ceiling pretty fast.
Advice to Management: Management should really create clear career development plans for different roles. It would help a lot with retention for software engineers and other technical staff.
