Work-Life Balance is a Real Struggle Here

Worked at Azeus Systems Limited for a bit. The team was good, and I learned some stuff as an IT Consultant. But honestly, the work-life balance is a huge con. You'll put in a lot of extra time on software development projects, especially in the Manila office.

Pros

Good team support for new hires, which is nice. As an IT Consultant, I learned a lot during training. The health benefits are actually pretty decent for a mid-sized company.

Cons

Expect long hours, especially on client projects in the IT services industry. Work-life balance is a big issue; overtime is common in the Manila office. It's tough to have a personal life outside of software development deadlines.

Advice to Management

Upper management needs to seriously address the overtime culture for IT Consultants. Better project planning and more realistic deadlines would make a huge difference in the Manila office. It's impacting people's personal lives.

Supportive Leadership and Strong Team Collaboration
Pros: I appreciate the supportive leadership for Software Engineers here. Managers offer clear guidance, actively encouraging professional growth and new tech learning. It's a stable IT services environment with great team collaboration for software development.
Cons: The main drawback is that some internal approval processes can be quite slow. This occasionally impacts our agility and the speed at which we can implement new project ideas or tools.
Advice to Management: I'd advise management to review and streamline some of the internal approval processes. Speeding these up could significantly boost project agility and innovation.

Good for learning and stable career in IT
Pros: I've learned a lot as a Software Engineer at Azeus Systems Limited. The team in Manila is really supportive, especially for new hires, and it's a stable environment overall. We get to work on diverse IT solutions, which helps with skill development. There's a good sense of camaraderie, and the hybrid work model is a plus for my work-life balance, making it easier to manage personal commitments.
Cons: Career progression can feel a bit slow sometimes, so you might need to actively seek out internal opportunities to grow. Also, there are definitely periods where project deadlines lead to some intense crunch times, which can impact work-life balance temporarily. Communication could sometimes be clearer, especially between different project teams, to avoid misunderstandings. It's a pretty standard experience for an established IT solutions provider.
Advice to Management: Consider implementing clearer guidelines for career progression and development paths. Also, try to standardize project planning to minimize unexpected crunch periods and improve inter-team communication for better overall efficiency.

Stable Environment for IT Professionals
Pros: As a Software Engineer in IT consulting, I've found Azeus Systems Limited in Hong Kong to be a stable employer with good job security. There are excellent learning opportunities, and the team is very supportive, fostering professional development.
Cons: Promotion paths can feel slow. Also, during busy periods for project delivery, work-life balance sometimes suffers due to tight deadlines. Some internal approval processes can be a bit bureaucratic, which can slow things down.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining internal processes to reduce bureaucracy and improve the transparency and speed of career progression opportunities for dedicated employees. Enhance communication around project timelines to better support work-life balance.
