Hybrid Model for Software Engineers is Okay
Working here as a Software Engineer has its ups and downs. The hybrid model is okay, but could be better for work-life balance.
I liked the stability of working for a big corporate bank. The benefits package is solid, and for a Software Engineer, you get some decent exposure to complex financial systems. The hybrid schedule lets you skip the commute a few days a week.
The work flexibility isn't great, honestly. They're pretty strict about the 3-day-a-week in-office mandate, even if your team is mostly remote. It's tough sometimes getting everything done with that commute in New York City. Can't really work fully remote.
Management should seriously reconsider the rigid hybrid policy. More flexibility for roles like Software Engineer would boost morale and probably productivity. Trust your employees more with their schedules.
