About The Role
We are looking for a Configuration Manager to own and maintain our Configuration Management process and CMDB. In this role, you will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and governance of configuration data, supporting IT service stability, Change Management, and operational efficiency.
Working closely with IT teams, Change Management, and stakeholders, you will drive CMDB quality, process improvements, and Configuration Management best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the Configuration Management process and CMDB governance framework.
- Manage Configuration Items (CIs) and their relationships throughout their lifecycle, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Ensure the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of CMDB data through regular reviews, audits, and data quality initiatives.
- Maintain configuration baselines, version control, and CI attributes in line with established standards and procedures.
- Collaborate with Change Management and technical teams to assess the impact of changes and ensure configuration data is updated accordingly.
- Monitor CMDB health by identifying and resolving stale, orphaned, duplicate, or inaccurate Configuration Items.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards on CMDB health, compliance, and performance metrics.
- Support audits, compliance activities, and governance requirements by providing accurate configuration information.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance Configuration Management processes, data quality, and operational efficiency.
- Act as a subject matter expert for Configuration Management and provide guidance to stakeholders and IT teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in Configuration Management, CMDB administration, or IT Service Management.
- Good understanding of Configuration Management principles and CMDB structures.
- Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Cherwell.
- Knowledge of ITIL practices; ITIL certification is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, or Service Mapping.
- Familiarity with GxP-regulated environments.
- Understanding of IT infrastructure technologies and Change Management processes.
