Okay for a tech startup, but work-life balance is tough.
Working at Activate Interactive has been a mixed bag. As a Software Engineer, the projects are interesting, but it's tough to keep a good work-life balance here, especially during busy periods. Expect to put in extra hours.
As a Software Engineer in the Singapore office, I appreciate the occasional team events and free lunch. We do get some holidays off, which is decent. The core work hours are pretty standard when there isn't a tight deadline.
The work-life balance isn't great during crunch times for a tech startup. It's common to work late, sometimes past 7 PM, especially during sprint cycles in software development. This makes it really hard to plan personal stuff outside of work.
Management should really try to plan projects better and respect employees' personal time. Constantly shifting deadlines or adding new features late in the game just burns people out. A better work-life balance would seriously boost morale.
