Hybrid Work at HSBC Is Okay, Not Great
It's a big corporate bank, so things move slow and flexibility isn't their strong suit. Pay is okay, but don't expect much freedom. For a global financial services company, it could be better.
The hybrid schedule means I don't have to be in the New York City office five days a week, which is a small win for my commute. There's some decent technology available for remote work days too. It helps when you're an Operations Analyst trying to balance things.
The 'hybrid' model still feels pretty rigid, almost like onsite with extra steps. As a large financial institution, they're really strict about when you're in, not much real work flexibility. You can't just pick your WFH days, they're often assigned.
Give employees more autonomy over their hybrid schedule. Trust your teams to get the work done without such strict in-office mandates. This would really help with employee morale.
