About The Role
We are looking for a Group Accounting Technical Manager to strengthen our financial governance and accounting excellence across global operations across multiple jurisdictions. This role sits at the intersection of technical accounting, financial controls, and business transformation, requiring someone who can navigate complex IFRS matters while partnering closely with Finance, Operations, and Compliance teams. You will play a key role in establishing robust accounting policies, strengthening SOX controls, and supporting the launch of new financial products in a rapidly evolving fintech environment.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Accounting & Policy Development: Lead technical accounting research and prepare accounting position papers under IFRS for complex transactions, new business initiatives, and emerging accounting topics. Develop and maintain accounting policies that support consistent application across the organisation.SOX & Internal Controls Excellence: Own and continuously enhance the SOX and internal controls framework, overseeing control design, testing, remediation activities, and governance processes to strengthen financial reporting integrity and operational effectiveness.Cross-Jurisdiction Financial Governance: Partner closely with Finance, Operations, and Compliance teams across multiple jurisdictions to ensure accounting treatment, operational processes, and regulatory requirements are aligned for new products, business initiatives, and evolving regulatory changes.Business Advisory & Product Support: Assess the accounting implications of new fintech, brokerage, and crypto-adjacent products, providing practical technical guidance that supports business growth while maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulatory expectations.Capability Building & Regional Collaboration: Coach and develop finance team members through technical training, knowledge sharing, and review of accounting matters while driving continuous improvements to accounting processes and governance frameworks. Support cross-border finance initiatives and travel periodically to regional offices as business needs require.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience & Background: 7+ years of experience in technical accounting, external audit, or financial reporting, gained within a Big 4 or mid-tier audit firm, or an equivalent in-house technical accounting function. Experience supporting financial services, fintech, brokerage, capital markets, or related regulated industries is highly preferred.Technical Accounting & Controls Expertise: Strong working knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, and SOX/internal controls frameworks, with proven experience researching complex accounting issues, drafting technical accounting papers, and implementing robust governance processes.Business Partnership & Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear technical accounting memoranda and collaborate effectively with Finance, Operations, Compliance, and business stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.Problem Solving & Learning Agility: Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with changing business priorities. Demonstrates sound judgement, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to solving complex accounting and operational challenges.Education & Professional Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CA, or an equivalent is required. Willingness to travel periodically to support regional business initiatives is expected.
