Sounds great – what’s the role in a nutshell?
Deliver exceptional hospitality and share insightful local knowledge during guide rotations. You'll ensure guests have a safe and enjoyable experience by providing essential safety information and equipment before any excursion, and by expertly guiding them through our designated areas.
Your Passion Is
- Serve as the certified Dive Master, responsible for planning, organizing, and leading all scuba diving and snorkeling activities for guests.
- Inspect, maintain, and manage all diving and snorkeling gear, ensuring all equipment is in safe, working order and meets regulatory standards.
- Conduct pre-dive briefings, perform site assessments, and ensure strict adherence to all established dive safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Provide expert interpretation of the marine environment (coral reefs, fish identification, conservation) both underwater and during pre/post-dive discussions.
- Maintain accurate logbooks for all dive activities, guest certifications, and equipment checks.
- Describe terrestrial and marine places, flora, fauna, and local culture of the Seychelles to guests with detailed, professional knowledge.
- Conduct presentations or briefings on natural history, conservation efforts, and the daily excursion schedule.
- Lead all guided shore excursions and water-based activities (e.g., hikes, paddleboarding, snorkeling, beach walks), prioritizing guest safety and adhering to environmental guidelines.
- Manages and updates the tour or excursion itinerary, liaising with the operations team to adjust logistics based on safety (dive conditions) and company requirements.
- Prepares and updates the daily program of the cruise, ensuring accurate scheduling of dive, snorkel, and land activities.
- Provides directions to guests regarding the company’s itinerary or manifest and makes the morning wake-up call with excursion details.
- Collaborates with the guide team and Cruise Director to develop and update necessary operational procedures (e.g., guest embarkation, safety drills).
- Follows and implements all related company and dive procedures when required.
- Liaises with the operations team to ensure that the arrangement of on-land or excursion logistics is well prepared and managed.
- Produce daily reports on each excursion (including dive logs) and compile a weekly Guide Report.
- Be responsible for producing all related reports regarding expenses or payment during any excursion or tour program.
- Provide regular updates on any change of guest information (e.g., participation level, medical notes) to the operations team, Cruise Director, Captain, or concerned stakeholders.
- Demonstrate guest-centric communication and cultural sensitivity as essential qualities, ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere.
- Performs additional tasks assigned by the line manager or required by the company.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor in Tourism and Hospitality
- 5 years of experience as a guide in Seychelles Inner and Outer Islands
- Must hold a valid Certification PADI Open Water Diver.
- Fluent in English communication skills, French is a plus
- Management skills and leadership competencieswith an ability to work in a multicultural environment.
