Pay's okay, but commissions are tough here
Pros: The base salary for a Recruiting Coordinator in Austin, TX is pretty decent. It's a solid start for a mid-sized agency. I also liked the health benefits, they're comprehensive.
Cons: The commission structure for talent acquisition roles isn't great. It's tough to hit targets and really boost your income. I've seen better 401k matching at other recruiting firms.
Advice to Management: Rethink the commission structure for your talent acquisition specialists. It's hard to feel motivated when the payout isn't competitive. Also, look at improving the 401k match.

Tough to grow past entry-level here
Pros: You learn a lot about the recruitment agency business fast. The team in the Austin, TX office is pretty friendly. It's a solid place for gaining entry-level experience in the industry.
Cons: Career growth for a Recruiting Coordinator is really limited. There aren't clear paths to move up, and promotions felt rare. You just kind of do the same tasks without much new challenge.
Advice to Management: Create clear development plans for junior staff. Invest in training and make sure there are actual opportunities for internal advancement, especially for recruiting operations roles.

Job Security is Okay for Agency Life
Pros: The team culture at Aster Recruiting is pretty supportive. As a Recruiting Coordinator, I learned a lot about the staffing agency world. Plus, the remote work option was a huge plus for my daily life.
Cons: Job security can feel a bit up and down here. Client changes definitely impact roles, which is tough. You really depend on sales hitting their targets.
Advice to Management: Try to communicate more transparently when client contracts are in flux, especially how it might affect specific recruitment roles.
