Okay Flexibility, But Don't Expect Full Remote
Pros: The Hong Kong office does offer some hybrid options, which is nice for a recruitment firm. As a Recruitment Consultant, I could sometimes adjust my hours for personal appointments. It's not super strict if you need to come in a bit late once in a while.
Cons: There's not much remote work available for recruitment roles, which can be tough. The expectation is still mostly onsite at this mid-sized firm. Don't expect to work from home more than maybe one day a week, if that.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more structured WFH days. It would really help with employee morale and work-life balance for those of us in client-facing recruitment roles.

Decent Pay for Recruiters, But It's All Commission
Pros: If you're good at closing deals, the commission scheme for IT & FinTech recruitment roles can be quite rewarding. I've seen some top performers do really well. They also offer a decent health insurance package, which is a plus.
Cons: The base salary for new headhunter roles is on the lower side, which puts a lot of pressure on you from day one. There aren't many extra benefits beyond the basics, so it's not a super comprehensive package overall. It's a tough grind in the recruitment industry.
Advice to Management: Think about offering slightly more competitive base salaries, especially for entry-level Recruitment Consultants. It would help attract and keep talent in this competitive Hong Kong market.

Leadership is okay, but needs consistency
Pros: The senior management team is generally approachable and will listen to concerns, which is a big plus for a mid-sized recruitment agency. They do invest in training, helping new Recruitment Consultants learn the ropes. Also, the hybrid work model is a lifesaver.
Cons: Leadership communication can be really spotty. Sometimes strategic changes just drop on us without much heads-up or clear explanation. There's also some micromanagement from certain team leaders, which impacts daily operations for talent acquisition roles here in the Hong Kong office.
Advice to Management: Focus on clearer, more consistent communication about company direction and strategy. Trust your Recruitment Consultants more and try to cut down on the micromanagement. It's tough to hit targets when you feel overly scrutinized.
