Pros: I got solid experience in hotel operations, especially working in their boutique hotels. The initial training helps you learn the ropes fast. It's great for building a strong foundation if you're new to the hospitality industry. You work with a professional team.
Cons: However, career growth as an Assistant Manager felt pretty stalled. There aren't many promotion opportunities within the Hong Kong properties. It seems like you have to wait forever for a senior role to open up, and even then, internal movement isn't a given. It's hard to advance beyond a certain level.
Advice to Management: Create more defined career progression plans for mid-level employees. It's hard to see a future here without clear steps to move up. Invest in internal promotions to retain talent in hotel operations rather than always hiring externally for senior roles.
