Company Reviews

Galaxy Entertainment Group ("GEG") is a leading Asian gaming company, which since 2002, has held a gaming concession from the Macau SAR Government. Our business has evolved to include 3 City Clubs, the Starworld Hotel and the iconic Galaxy Macau which opened in May 2011. The success of these ventures has positioned GEG for significant growth in the coming years.

May 2015 saw the launch of the second phase of Galaxy Macau which included an expanded retail and F&B offering, as well as two new hotels - the JW Marriott and an all-suite Ritz Carlton. In addition, we also launched Broadway Macau, where the sights, taste and sounds of Asia and the most authentic aspects of Macau are up close and personal.

Our long term growth includes the future development of Phase 3 & 4 of Galaxy Macau, a US$1.6 Billion investment into developing a resort on the neighboring Hengqin Island as well as exploration of other business opportunities across Asia.

Job Security Is Okay, Depends on Market
Pros: Being a large corporate integrated resort, Galaxy Entertainment Group offers a certain level of stability. For core gaming roles like Casino Operations Supervisor, the daily work is consistent. Benefits package for long-term staff is pretty solid.
Cons: Job security in Macau's casino market can be tricky with policy changes. We've seen some department restructuring which makes people nervous. It's not always clear how the big picture economic shifts will affect us.
Advice to Management: Communicate more clearly about long-term plans and how market changes will affect employees. Transparency helps reduce anxiety about job security.

Leadership is okay, but could be better
Pros: It's a stable job in the Macau integrated resort sector. For Casino Dealer roles, the initial training is solid, and you learn a lot about casino operations. The compensation for frontline staff is generally competitive.
Cons: Leadership on the gaming floor often feels detached. It's tough to get clear feedback or understand career growth paths here. Upper management sometimes makes decisions that don't make sense to us on the ground.
Advice to Management: Try to be more visible and approachable to frontline staff, especially on the gaming floor. Get feedback from us. Make promotion paths clearer for Casino Dealer roles.

Tough Hours for Gaming, Decent Team
Pros: For onsite gaming roles at Galaxy Entertainment Group, shifts are usually predictable. You know your schedule way in advance, which is okay for planning your personal life.
Cons: True work flexibility is basically non-existent here for most of us in the Macau resort operations. There's zero work-from-home, and it's super hard to change shifts, even for important stuff. It's a tough grind.
Advice to Management: Consider implementing a more user-friendly and transparent shift swap system. Even small improvements in work flexibility for onsite roles could boost morale.
