Startup life means job security isn't guaranteed
Pros: The work is always engaging, which helps when you're thinking about the future. I've learned a ton as a Marketing Specialist here, gaining valuable experience in the competitive fintech industry. We also have a decent severance package if things go south, which is some comfort.
Cons: Layoffs have happened a few times already, making everyone nervous about their roles. For remote roles, it feels like we're always under scrutiny, which adds to the stress. The job security isn't great, especially for a growing startup.
Advice to Management: Be more transparent about company performance and future plans to help ease employee anxieties. Clear communication goes a long way.

Pay's Okay, Benefits Could Be Stronger
Pros: Working as a Product Analyst at this fintech startup, the base salary was pretty standard for Austin. The individual health insurance plan was solid, and the 401k match after a year is a nice perk.
Cons: Getting a significant raise here is tough, even with strong performance reviews. The family health benefits are really pricey, which was a struggle. Equity grants are pretty minimal unless you're in a very senior engineering role.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the compensation structure to include more competitive raises and improve family benefit options. Retaining good talent means investing in their financial well-being.
