Pharmaceutical Sales Representative

Okay flexibility for pharma sales reps
Pros: As a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative, I appreciated the chance to manage my own schedule a lot. It's not fully remote, but I could plan my visits to clinics and pharmacies in Jakarta pretty well. This made balancing personal errands much easier than in other corporate roles.
Cons: Sometimes the targets make 'flexibility' a bit of a joke; you're just flexible about when you hit the pavement. Leadership can be inconsistent with expectations for WFH days, especially during busy periods. It often felt like I had to constantly justify my time away from the office.
Advice to Management: Management should clearly define WFH policies and stick to them. More consistent guidance would really help sales teams feel more supported, especially with the pressure of hitting targets in the pharmaceutical industry.

Stable but A Bit Slow-Paced
Pros: I liked my team. People are genuinely supportive, especially in the Jakarta office. It's a very secure job, solid for the pharmaceutical industry.
Cons: The company culture is really old-school. It's a big corporate environment so decisions take forever. Innovation isn't really a priority.
Advice to Management: Please try to streamline processes. Encourage new ideas more often. Modernize a bit.

Leadership Can Be Tough in Manufacturing
Pros: As a Production Supervisor, I've seen some good leaders who really understand pharmaceutical manufacturing. The company offers decent job security, which is a big plus in this corporate environment.
Cons: However, overall leadership is inconsistent; there's often slow decision-making from top management. You'll find micromanagement and a lack of clear vision for our Jakarta office operations.
Advice to Management: Focus on developing consistent leadership training and empowering mid-level managers. Improve communication channels between different departments, especially for drug production initiatives.

Flexibility is Tough for Pharmacy Roles Here
Pros: The job security is pretty solid, being a state-owned enterprise. You learn a lot about high-volume medication dispensing and patient care. Plus, the benefits package is decent for the industry, which helps.
Cons: Work flexibility is a real challenge here, especially for Pharmacist roles. It's almost always strict onsite work; remote options are basically non-existent. Shift changes are tough to arrange, even for personal appointments, making work-life balance a constant juggle.
Advice to Management: Management really needs to look into modernizing scheduling for onsite pharmacy staff. Even a little more flexibility with shift swaps or occasional hybrid models for non-dispensing tasks would make a huge difference in employee morale and retention for Pharmacist roles.

Flexibility here is a mixed bag
Pros: They do offer hybrid options for some corporate roles, which is decent. It's nice not being onsite every single day, and the Jakarta office is accessible.
Cons: But for true work-from-home, it's pretty tough. As an Operations Analyst, I often felt tied to the office schedule, even for tasks I could easily do remotely. There's not much wiggle room.
Advice to Management: Management should really look into expanding remote work options, especially for departments where tasks can be completed off-site. It would help a lot with employee retention and modernizing the corporate structure.

Decent stability for Pharmacy Assistants
Pros: It's a big, corporate pharmaceutical company so there's always work. Being a Pharmacy Assistant means your role is pretty essential, especially in the Jakarta branches. They don't do mass layoffs often, which is a relief.
Cons: Job growth feels slow though, not many chances for advancement in pharmacy roles. Sometimes shifts get cut without much warning, impacting your pay. The healthcare industry can be unpredictable, even here.
Advice to Management: Improve communication on shift changes to help with financial planning. Create clearer career paths for long-term Pharmacy Assistants; it feels like a dead end sometimes.
