Okay Flexibility for a Project Coordinator
Pros: The hybrid model is pretty solid here. As a Project Coordinator, I get 3 WFH days a week. It helps a lot with my work-life balance and daily errands.
Cons: Sometimes, you still have to be in the Houston office for urgent meetings, even on a WFH day. It can make planning tough for remote employees. Not much flexibility during big grid integration projects either.
Advice to Management: Keep supporting the hybrid model, but try to minimize unexpected in-office demands on WFH days. Consistency would be great for remote team members.

Pay is solid for energy sector
Pros: The base salary for Electrical Engineer roles in Houston, TX is pretty competitive. You can make a decent living here. Health benefits are also okay.
Cons: Bonuses aren't great, honestly. And the 401k match could be much better compared to other big corporate firms. It's tough to save big.
Advice to Management: Revisit the 401k matching and bonus structures to stay competitive for employees in the energy sector. It's a real factor for retention.

Okay Start, Growth Needs Work Here
Pros: You'll get good exposure to real-world renewable energy projects as a Junior Electrical Engineer. The initial training is solid, and there's decent hybrid work flexibility at the Austin, TX office.
Cons: Career growth feels really slow for engineering roles, especially after your first year. There aren't clear paths to move up within the power grid solutions team. Annual reviews often don't lead to meaningful promotion discussions.
Advice to Management: Establish clearer pathways for advancement for engineers. Provide more mentorship opportunities and define what it takes to get promoted beyond just annual performance reviews.
