Company Reviews

Great Place to Learn and Grow in Industrial Operations
Pros: Working as a Process Engineer in this manufacturing company has been a solid experience. The team collaboration is fantastic, and I've gained valuable technical knowledge from senior engineers. It’s a stable environment with interesting projects that challenge my problem-solving skills, and management is generally supportive.
Cons: Career advancement can feel a bit slow due to the company's size and structure. The approval processes can sometimes be lengthy, and some older systems make certain tasks less efficient than they could be.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining internal approval processes to accelerate project execution and employee career progression.

Solid Industrial Employer with Good Teamwork
Pros: I've had a generally positive experience here as a Process Engineer in the heavy manufacturing industry. My colleagues are really supportive, which makes daily tasks and tackling complex production challenges much easier. There are solid opportunities to learn new technical skills and deepen your understanding of industrial processes. The pay and benefits package is competitive, especially for an onsite role, and it definitely contributes to feeling valued within the company.
Cons: The career progression can sometimes feel a bit slower than I'd like, which is a common experience in established industrial companies. Also, while generally good, there are periods, especially around project deadlines, where the hours can get long. Improving cross-departmental communication could also help streamline some of our workflows and approvals.
Advice to Management: Streamlining communication between departments and reviewing career progression frameworks could further enhance employee satisfaction and efficiency.

Hoogovens: Work-Life Is Mostly Okay
Pros: It's pretty solid for a Process Engineer; I usually get my 40 hours done and go home. You're mostly free evenings and weekends, which is rare in heavy industry sometimes. Good for family life.
Cons: Don't expect much work flexibility here; it's an onsite role in the IJmuiden plant. Big projects in steel manufacturing mean crunch time, so work-life balance can tank for a few weeks then. It's a large industrial company, so things move slow.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more flexible work options for non-plant-critical roles to attract modern talent.
