Software Engineer

Pay is Okay, Benefits are Standard
Pros: The health insurance here is pretty solid, that's a plus. They also have a decent 401k match for a mid-sized company in the telecom software industry. It's helpful, especially for a Software Engineer like me.
Cons: Salary growth isn't great, it's tough to get significant raises. Base pay for Software Engineer roles can feel a bit behind market rates. Don't expect huge bonuses or exceptional annual increases.
Advice to Management: Management should seriously review compensation packages, especially for technical roles like Software Engineer. Bringing salaries up to market average would really boost morale and retention in the telecom software space.

Okay Place, But Career Growth is Slow
Pros: It's a stable corporate environment. As a Software Engineer, I've learned a ton about telecommunications data analytics, which is pretty niche. The team is usually helpful.
Cons: There aren't many opportunities for skill development outside your direct project. It's tough to see a clear career path here, honestly. Promotions are rare, especially for remote roles.
Advice to Management: Invest in employee development programs. Make career paths more transparent for your technical staff and offer clearer avenues for promotion.

Software Developer

Stable but slow for a Software Developer
Pros: The company has a solid footing in telecommunications software, so it's not a risky startup. As a Software Developer, I've always had steady work, especially with their existing call center solutions clients. It feels pretty secure here, which is a big plus.
Cons: Job security is decent, but career progression is a real struggle. There aren't many opportunities for rapid advancement or new tech learning. It's a mid-sized tech company that feels a bit resistant to change, making me worry about long-term relevance.
Advice to Management: Invest more in employee development and new technologies. Create clearer paths for career growth to retain talent in software engineering roles. Don't rely too much on old product lines.
