Good team, but pay and benefits need work

Pros: The team spirit among the Interior Designers is solid here; everyone's super supportive and helpful. We get to work on a decent variety of residential and commercial fit-out projects, which is great for building your portfolio. The company culture feels like a small design studio, which has its perks.
Cons: The biggest issue is definitely the pay and benefit package. As an Interior Designer, my salary was definitely below the market rate for the Kuala Lumpur area, and there's no real room to negotiate. Health benefits are pretty basic, and don't expect any substantial bonuses, even after completing big projects for the firm.
Advice to Management: Seriously re-evaluate your compensation structure. To attract and retain good Interior Designers, especially in a competitive market like Kuala Lumpur, you need to offer salaries and benefits that are at least competitive with other architectural firms or design studios. Better health coverage and performance incentives would go a long way. Show more
