Pros: As a Junior Interior Designer, the hybrid model is a big plus. We get some WFH days which helps cut down on the Los Angeles commute. When things are slow, 40-hour weeks are definitely the norm for design projects.
Cons: Client deadlines for big projects can make work-life balance tough. I've worked some 60-hour weeks preparing specifications and presentations. It's especially draining in a small design firm where everyone wears many hats.
Advice to Management: Try to plan better for big client deadlines to avoid burnout. Maybe hire another Design Assistant during peak seasons to ease the load on the team.
