YLI is a public company listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (Ticker: “7014”).
It began in 1966 with the founding of Yew Lean Foundry & Co Sdn Bhd (initial cast iron factory) and later expanded into pipe manufacturing, fittings and infrastructure services.
Over time the Group diversified to cover ductile iron (DI) pipes, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes, mild steel (MS) pipes, fittings and also construction & project management in water & sewerage industries.
The company states its vision: “To be a pre-eminent group in providing products and services to the water supply and sewerage industry, thus contributing effectively towards building the nation.”
YLI Holdings is a specialist in pipes, fittings and waterworks infrastructure solutions in Malaysia/ASEAN, with a long heritage and an aspiration to provide “one-stop” solutions for water & sewerage systems. While it has diversified into new areas (meters, chemicals, services) to adapt to evolving markets, it currently faces headwinds in profitability and demand. The strategic repositioning is underway, but the effectiveness of that shift will be key for future performance.
