Decent work-life balance if you manage projects
Pros: As a Firmware Engineer, I've found the work-life balance pretty decent. It's great having that hybrid model; you can WFH a couple days, which really helps with the Santa Clara commute. Most weeks, you can stick to a solid 40 hours.
Cons: Still, during those big hardware development pushes for new MEMS timing products, things get intense. You're definitely putting in longer hours then, and it's expected in this semiconductor industry. It's not all the time, but be ready for it.
Advice to Management: Try to plan resource allocation better to smooth out the crunch times, especially for the core engineering teams working on new product lines.

Okay flexibility, depends on your team here
Pros: I've had decent work flexibility on my team sometimes. If your manager is cool, you can work from home a couple of days a week for many engineering roles. That's a big plus for a semiconductor company.
Cons: Other teams, especially in hardware engineering, expect you onsite way more often. It's not a fully remote environment, so don't expect that. Work-life balance can suffer when project deadlines hit hard.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize the hybrid model across all departments. It'd really help with employee morale and retention for engineers, especially in Santa Clara.

Decent Stability in the Timing Solutions Space
Pros: The biggest plus here is definitely job security. The market for SiTime's MEMS timing solutions is pretty consistent, so there aren't many big shake-ups. It's a solid place to be for hardware engineering roles if you value stability over rapid change.
Cons: While job security is good, career growth can feel a bit slow. Promotions aren't super frequent, and it's sometimes tough to see a clear path forward. The culture can also feel a bit corporate for a company of this size.
Advice to Management: Focus on providing clearer career development paths for engineering roles. Regular feedback sessions could really help employees feel more engaged and see their future here.
