Pros: For a large corporate company in the quality assurance industry, the hybrid work policy is a welcome change. As a Quality Assurance Analyst, I got to work remote from Houston, TX a few days a week, which really helped with my commute. It's a solid perk if your team supports it.
Cons: The flexibility really depends on your specific department; it's not universal across all roles at SGS & Co. Field inspectors still have demanding onsite schedules with very limited WFH options, which isn't great. Also, there wasn't much room for adjusting daily hours, you usually stick to a standard 9-5.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize remote and hybrid options across more departments, where feasible. For field-based roles, consider better scheduling tools to improve their work-life balance and flexibility.

Pros: For some administrative or project management roles, there's decent hybrid work. The Houston, TX office is pretty understanding if you need to adjust hours for appointments, which is helpful in the inspection and testing industry. It's not a super rigid setup for everyone.
Cons: As a Lab Technician, though, work from home isn't really an option since you're always onsite. It's tough when you see other departments with more flexibility. There's not much room for adjusting daily schedules either, meaning pretty standard 9-5 hours.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more condensed workweeks or slight schedule variations for onsite roles where possible. Even small changes would make a big difference for Lab Technicians.

Pros: If you're looking for stability, this place delivers. The inspection, verification, and certification industry is always in demand, which makes for strong job security. As a Project Manager, I've always had a consistent workload in the Houston office.
Cons: Pay isn't always competitive for a multinational corporation, which is a bummer. Internal career progression can feel pretty slow, so you might feel stuck after a while. The processes can be super bureaucratic, slowing things down.
Advice to Management: Try to speed up internal promotions and give better compensation packages. It would help retain good talent in key roles.
