Decent place for stability, tough for quick growth.
Pros: The company offers good job security, which is nice in the industrial heating industry. You'll learn a lot on the job, especially if you're new to manufacturing processes. It's a stable, onsite role.
Cons: Career advancement can feel pretty slow here. There aren't many clear paths for internal promotions or moving up quickly for engineering roles. You might get stuck in one position for a while, making real career growth hard.
Advice to Management: Create clearer development plans for employees, especially for those in technical roles. Offer more opportunities for cross-functional training to help us gain new skills and show initiative.

Leadership is Okay, But Needs Consistency
Pros: I've worked at Watlow for a few years. My immediate supervisor as a Project Manager was really supportive. They pushed for us to get necessary resources for our industrial heating projects and there's good job security here in St. Louis, MO.
Cons: Senior leadership often feels disconnected from daily operations. It's tough to get clear decisions sometimes, especially when dealing with cross-functional teams in thermal management. Communication about company direction isn't always clear, leaving some gaps.
Advice to Management: Try to bridge the gap between senior leadership and the project teams. More consistent, clear communication about strategic goals would really help everyone.

Decent Stability in Manufacturing, Room to Grow
Pros: Job security is pretty solid here. As a Manufacturing Engineer, I always felt safe, even during shaky economic times. The company has a long history in industrial heating solutions, so they're established.
Cons: Growth can be slow in the St. Louis office. It feels like there aren't many opportunities to move up quickly, especially for senior engineering roles. Pay raises don't always keep up with inflation.
Advice to Management: Look at accelerating career pathing for engineering roles. Also, review compensation to stay competitive in the manufacturing industry.
