Okay for a start, but growth is slow
Pros: It's a big corporate environment, so there's good job security here. You can learn a lot in your first year as a software engineer, especially getting used to the manufacturing industry. The onsite team in Kuala Lumpur is pretty solid.
Cons: Career growth is really tough for software engineer roles; the promotion paths aren't clear at all. I felt stuck after a couple of years, with not much room to move up or try new challenges. The internal training programs aren't very useful either.
Advice to Management: Establish clearer growth paths and invest more in relevant development for technical roles. Make promotions transparent.

Hybrid Model is Okay, But Could Be Better
Pros: The hybrid work model is a decent start; we get to WFH a couple of days a week. For us Software Engineers, this really helps cut down on the daily commute in Kuala Lumpur. They're generally fine if you need to adjust your start time occasionally for personal stuff.
Cons: The onsite days are pretty strict, so there's not much room for true flexible hours then. And getting approval for extra WFH days can be a real hassle in this corporate environment. It feels like they could trust their tech roles more.
Advice to Management: Give more autonomy to employees in tech roles regarding flexible hours and WFH days. Trust is key for productivity in a hybrid setup.

Okay Corporate Culture, Steady But Slow
Pros: The team spirit among colleagues is pretty good here, especially in the Kuala Lumpur office. We often have team lunches, which helps build connections. As a Software Engineer, you get solid foundational experience in the IT services industry.
Cons: The company culture can feel a bit traditional and slow when it comes to adopting new ideas. The hybrid model isn't always as flexible as it seems, and there's not much push for innovation, which can be frustrating if you're looking for rapid career growth. Communication from upper management often feels a bit distant.
Advice to Management: Focus on improving internal communication, especially from leadership. Try to encourage more innovation within the teams and explore adopting newer technologies. It would really help with employee engagement for Software Engineers and other tech roles.
