Pros: I got to work on some cool renewable energy solutions projects, which gave me good exposure. As a Junior Software Engineer, I learned a lot by taking initiative. There are some internal training options if you look for them in the tech industry.
Cons: Formal career paths aren't very clear here at this mid-sized company. Promotions seem to move pretty slowly, especially for us in the Kuala Lumpur office. There isn't a strong, structured mentorship program for actual skill development.
Advice to Management: Establish clearer career progression paths and promotion criteria. Invest more in structured mentorship and development programs, especially for junior roles. Make it transparent how employees can advance.
