Pay is okay, but benefits could improve
Pros: The base salary for a Software Engineer is pretty competitive, especially for a mid-sized tech firm in the Austin, TX office. I got a decent sign-on bonus, and health insurance plans are solid.
Cons: Annual raises aren't great; they barely keep up with inflation. Stock options for e-commerce platform roles are minimal compared to bigger tech. The 401k match isn't super generous either.
Advice to Management: Consider reviewing the annual raise structure and increasing the 401k match to truly compete for top talent in the digital payments space. More competitive stock options would also help retention.

Okay Culture for Product Marketing at OmniCommerce
Pros: The immediate team I worked with as a Product Marketing Manager was generally supportive and collaborative. We had good camaraderie, especially in our remote work setup, which made daily tasks manageable, even operating from places like Atlanta, GA.
Cons: Cross-functional communication is a real struggle here. It often felt like different departments within OmniCommerce Holdings were operating in silos, making it tough to launch cohesive e-commerce campaigns. There's also not much recognition for hard work beyond your direct team.
Advice to Management: Invest in better inter-departmental tools and initiatives to break down silos. Acknowledge and reward cross-functional collaboration more often to foster a more unified company culture.

Pay's okay, but benefits could be better
Pros: The base salary for us Software Engineers is pretty decent, definitely competitive for San Francisco. I've also gotten some solid stock options here. The annual bonus for our e-commerce solutions group is a nice little bump too, which is always good.
Cons: Man, healthcare premiums feel really high, which eats into my take-home pay. The 401k match isn't super generous either, it's pretty standard for a corporate company, not amazing. There isn't much choice in benefit plans, feels kinda rigid.
Advice to Management: You guys should really look at lowering those healthcare costs for employees. Also, a stronger 401k match would definitely help with attracting and keeping talent, especially for the core engineering roles.

Solid Job, But Growth Can Be Slow
Pros: The job stability here is pretty solid, especially for Software Engineer roles in the e-commerce industry. We haven't seen a ton of layoffs, even when other companies were struggling. It feels secure working from the Austin, TX office with our hybrid work setup.
Cons: While job security is good, growth opportunities can feel a bit slow for individual contributors. There aren't always clear paths for advancement after a certain point. It can be tough to move up without a lot of internal networking and advocacy.
Advice to Management: Focus on creating clearer career ladders and offering more internal development programs. It would help retain talent and show employees a path forward.
