Decent Flexibility, But Depends on Your Role
Pros: As a lecturer in higher education, you get good autonomy on your research schedule. Hybrid teaching options sometimes pop up, which helps with personal appointments. The Semenyih campus environment is quite relaxed for planning.
Cons: Core teaching hours are super fixed, so don't expect to shift those easily. For many administrative roles, strict onsite presence is a norm. WFH isn't really an option for support staff or for all academic duties.
Advice to Management: Try to offer more flexible work arrangements for non-teaching staff. Review the admin burden on academic roles to free up more research time.
