Pay's okay for a small dance studio.

Pros: You do get paid pretty reliably every two weeks, which is good for a small business. They cover basic liability insurance for us dance instructors, which is a nice perk in the performing arts industry. Class fees are pretty standard, so income is somewhat predictable.
Cons: The hourly pay isn't super competitive, especially for experienced dance instructors in Los Angeles. There are no health benefits or retirement plans offered, which is tough for a part-time role. We don't get paid for lesson planning outside of class time.
Advice to Management: Consider offering some form of stipend for health insurance or paid time for class prep, especially for your long-term dance instructors. It would really help with retention. Show more
