Olympic Cable Company Sdn Bhd ("OCC") operates as a cottage industry based in Larkin Industrial Estate, Johore Bahru, to meet the demands of the local market for housing wires and low voltage electric cables. In the years that followed, the cottage industry experienced a significant growth until its acquisition by PJ Development Holdings Berhad in 1990. By 1994, OCC's armoured cable products had earned its SIRIM certification for outstanding quality, the first of OCC's many milestones that ensued from there on. In 1995, OCC hits upon another milestone when the company exceeded its own financial targets, turning around its financial performance from a loss making concern into a profitable operation.
