Expect Long Hours, Especially as an Auditor
Pros: You get amazing exposure as a Staff Auditor here. I've learned a ton about the audit process in the financial services industry. The team in the Makati City office is generally supportive, which helps when you're pulling long shifts.
Cons: Work-life balance is pretty much non-existent during busy season. I'm talking 60-70 hour weeks, sometimes even weekends. It's an onsite role, and there's not much flexibility for hybrid work, which makes things harder.
Advice to Management: Management needs to seriously consider staff retention by improving work-life balance for audit roles. More flexible hours or a real hybrid option would help. Burnout is a huge problem.

Culture is Decent, Lots to Learn Here
Pros: The best part about SGV & Co. is the learning curve. As a Junior Auditor, I got hands-on experience quickly with diverse client engagements. There's a strong sense of team within your immediate group, which makes tough audit seasons more bearable. It's a great place to build your foundation in the accounting firm world.
Cons: Work-life balance here isn't great, especially during peak season. Expect long hours, which can take a toll on personal life. Sometimes, the corporate hierarchy feels pretty rigid, and it's tough to get your voice heard as a junior staff member. The company culture can feel a bit intense at times.
Advice to Management: Consider implementing better ways to manage workload during busy periods to reduce burnout. More direct channels for feedback from junior staff could also improve morale and foster a more inclusive company culture.
