Service Crew

A Solid Place to Start and Grow in the Restaurant Business
Pros: I've been working as Service Crew at The Aristocrat Restaurant in Manila for a few years now, and it's been a pretty stable job. The team here is genuinely supportive, and you learn a lot about the food service industry from experienced colleagues. They offer decent benefits, especially for healthcare, which is a big plus. It's a well-established company, so there's good job security, and I appreciate that.
Cons: It can get really busy, especially during peak hours and holidays, which means long shifts sometimes and standing for hours. Promotion opportunities for front-line staff like us feel a bit slow, so career growth might require patience if you're looking to move up quickly. Also, some of the internal processes are a bit traditional, and could use some updating.
Advice to Management: I'd suggest management look into more clearly defined paths for career progression for service staff and consider investing in more modern tools to streamline some of the older processes, especially during peak service times.

Fixed Schedule, Okay Team at This Restaurant
Pros: You get pretty stable hours once your schedule is set. For line cook roles, it's consistent onsite work. The team usually helps out if you need to swap a shift, which is a big plus in the restaurant industry.
Cons: Work flexibility isn't really a thing here. Shifts are pretty fixed, and last-minute changes are tough to get approved, even for personal stuff. Don't expect remote options at this traditional family-owned restaurant.
Advice to Management: Try to offer more flexible scheduling options for kitchen staff. Even small changes would make a difference for work-life balance and overall morale.

Leadership can be hit or miss here
Pros: As a Server, I got steady onsite work and the hourly pay was decent for the area. It's a family-owned restaurant with a lot of history, so there's good job security for hospitality roles.
Cons: The leadership can be really inconsistent. Sometimes managers are supportive, other times they're completely out of touch with what's happening on the floor. Communication about schedule changes or new policies for restaurant operations often falls through.
Advice to Management: Work on consistent training for all management staff. Make sure there's clear communication channels so frontline staff feel heard and understand decisions.
