Decent Staffing Agency, But WLB Can Be Tough
Pros: The team in the Austin, TX office is generally pretty good, and I learned a lot about the recruitment process. There's a lot of autonomy if you hit your metrics. For a mid-sized company, the benefits package is solid.
Cons: Work-life balance here is often a struggle, especially as a Technical Recruiter. You're expected to be available for candidates and clients a lot. It's tough to consistently get 40 hour weeks; often it's more like 50+.
Advice to Management: Try to set clearer boundaries for employee hours, especially for recruiters. We're in the human resources industry; maybe practice what we preach about employee well-being.

Pay is Okay, Benefits are Just Decent Here
Pros: The base pay for entry-level recruitment roles isn't terrible, and you can make decent commission if you really hustle on client placements. They do offer health insurance, which is a solid basic employee benefit.
Cons: Compared to other staffing agencies in Chicago, the base salary is on the lower side for this kind of work. The commission structure is tough to hit sometimes. There aren't many extra benefits, like a good 401k match, which feels like a miss.
Advice to Management: Revisit the compensation structure and benefits package, especially for those in the Recruitment Coordinator role. Offering better 401k matching or more competitive PTO could help with retention.

Decent place, but leadership could be better
Pros: The team here is genuinely supportive, especially in the Chicago office. It's a solid place to get your feet wet in the staffing industry, particularly as a Recruitment Coordinator. We also have a decent hybrid model.
Cons: Leadership can feel a bit out of touch with what's happening on the ground. Sometimes decisions are made without talking to the people who actually do the work. There's not much clear direction for career growth for roles like mine.
Advice to Management: Try to listen more to the employees on the front lines. Clearer communication about company direction and individual career paths would really help.

Pay is decent, benefits are just fine
Pros: As a Recruiting Coordinator, the base salary felt pretty competitive for the Austin, TX market. They do offer solid health insurance, which is a big plus for a mid-sized company. It's a stable job in the staffing industry.
Cons: The 401k match isn't great; it's honestly pretty weak compared to other companies. PTO accrual is also a bit slow, so it can be tough to take longer breaks. Don't expect many extra perks or bonuses for staffing industry roles here.
Advice to Management: Improve the 401k match to be more competitive and consider a more generous PTO policy. These changes would really boost morale and help with employee retention.
