Okay Work-Life, Solid for a Big Company
Pros: As a Software Engineer in the Alpharetta, GA office, my work-life balance is usually pretty decent. I can often hit my 40 hours and then log off, which is good for a big corporate company. There's some WFH flexibility too, especially after projects are settled.
Cons: Sometimes, it's crunch time for payment processing deadlines, and those weeks can be tough. You'll definitely put in extra hours then. Career growth can feel a bit slow unless you push for it hard.
Advice to Management: Focus more on consistent project planning to avoid those sudden crunch periods. Also, clearer paths for advancement in technical roles would help.

Okay for now, not much long-term growth
Pros: The compensation for a Software Engineer is decent, and the benefits package is solid. I also learned a lot about payment processing systems and financial technology working on some core projects here in the Alpharetta, GA office.
Cons: Internal career growth is a big challenge. It felt like I was stuck in my role, and there aren't many clear paths to promotion. Moving teams also felt really tough, not much internal mobility for junior to mid-level roles.
Advice to Management: Management really needs to create clearer career paths and improve internal mobility programs. Encourage skill development and make it easier for employees to move into new roles.

Decent Work-Life, Depends on Your Team
Pros: Being remote from Texas was a huge plus for me; it made family life easier. As a Senior Software Engineer, I generally had decent hours outside of big deadlines in financial technology. It's a stable company overall.
Cons: Some sprints get pretty intense, stretching past 5 PM often. You sometimes feel pressured to log on early or stay late, which hurts the work-life balance. Management expectations can be inconsistent between teams.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize workload expectations across teams to truly support a good work-life balance for all, especially for those in core development roles.
