Great legal training and work flexibility
Pros: A&O Shearman offers excellent career development for Associate Attorneys in corporate law. The training is top-notch, and I work with smart, supportive colleagues on significant cases. The hybrid work model provides fantastic work flexibility, greatly helping my work-life balance in this demanding legal industry.
Cons: Work can be demanding during peak deal times, impacting work-life balance. Internal approval processes for new initiatives can sometimes feel a little slow for a large law firm.
Advice to Management: Continue to invest in technology to streamline internal approval processes and explore further initiatives to support work-life balance during peak periods.

Great Learning & Supportive Team Environment
Pros: Being a Legal Operations Analyst here is rewarding. I've gained lots of knowledge, working on diverse legal technology and process improvement projects in a major legal services firm. Colleagues are supportive and collaborative, making complex tasks manageable. The hybrid work option really helps with personal life.
Cons: Busy periods can be intense, especially with tight project deadlines common in this industry. Also, internal approval processes can sometimes feel a bit slow, impacting efficiency if not managed proactively.
Advice to Management: Streamline some of the internal approval processes to enhance project delivery speed and overall team efficiency. This would greatly reduce bottlenecks during critical phases.

Decent Hybrid Model for a Big Law Firm
Pros: The hybrid work arrangement is a real plus here. As a Junior Associate in the New York office, I appreciate the two days of WFH each week. It definitely helps cut down on commute time and manage small personal tasks.
Cons: But let's be real, it's still a big corporate law firm. True flexibility outside of location is tough; the hours are still really long. You often end up working late into the night even on WFH days for legal services.
Advice to Management: Management should rethink what 'flexible' means. It's not just about where you work, but also when. Support associates more to actually disconnect on WFH days and respect personal time.
