Great for Development & Flexible Professional Services Work
Pros: Working at KPMG Singapore has been a really positive experience for my career in professional services. As a Senior Associate, Audit & Assurance, I've had incredible learning opportunities and exposure to diverse clients and industries. The investment in training and career development is top-notch. My colleagues are very supportive. What really stands out is the work flexibility; the hybrid model allows for a good balance, which is crucial in this demanding industry.
Cons: It's no secret that the audit profession has intense busy seasons, and while the flexibility helps, the long hours can be challenging. Also, sometimes the internal bureaucracy and approval processes feel a bit slow, which can impact project efficiency. The compensation package feels a bit average for the effort put in, especially compared to some other financial services roles in Singapore.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining internal approval processes to boost efficiency and consider reviewing the compensation structure to ensure it's more competitive with the demanding nature of the work, especially during peak seasons.

Good Place for Career Growth in Professional Services
Pros: KPMG Singapore provides excellent learning opportunities within the professional services sector, especially for audit roles. The client exposure is great for career development, and colleagues are very supportive. The firm offers solid training, and it feels like a stable place to work with good job security.
Cons: Work-life balance is a common challenge during peak audit seasons, and while there's a work flexibility policy, using it fully can be tough with deadlines. The promotion process can sometimes feel slow, and some internal approval steps are quite bureaucratic.
Advice to Management: Continue to explore ways to genuinely improve work-life balance, especially during peak periods, and streamline some of the internal approval processes to boost efficiency.

Stable, but demanding public accounting job
Pros: Job security is solid here. As a Senior Auditor, I never really worried about layoffs, even during some market wobbles. Being part of a big corporate structure like KPMG means you're generally safe, which is a big plus in the financial services industry.
Cons: The trade-off for that security is often intense work. Long hours are expected, especially during peak audit season, making work-life balance tough. It's hard to relax when there's always so much on your plate for audit roles.
Advice to Management: Try to find ways to better manage workload during busy seasons. Staff burnout is a real concern in public accounting, and it affects morale.
