Decent Flexibility, But Room for Improvement
Pros: I liked the option for a hybrid work model here. Being able to work from home a couple of days a week in the Rotterdam office was a solid perk. It definitely helped balance personal appointments without eating up vacation days, which is pretty good for the marine cargo handling industry.
Cons: The "flexibility" often felt like it only applied to office staff. For operational roles, or as a Logistics Coordinator, unexpected client demands meant you had to be onsite more than planned. There wasn't much give on core hours, so adjusting your daily start/end time was tough.
Advice to Management: Really look at making flexibility more equitable across all roles, not just office-based ones. Empower team leads to offer more adaptive schedules when feasible for operational staff.

Flexibility Is Okay, Could Be Better
Pros: It's nice that MacGregor actually offers a hybrid model for office staff. For me as a Logistics Coordinator, I could usually WFH a couple days a week from the Houston office. That helped with personal appointments.
Cons: True remote work is rare. If your role isn't classified as hybrid, you're pretty much always onsite. It feels like flexibility isn't consistent across all departments in this corporate environment, especially for those in field roles within the maritime industry.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize flexibility policies across all office-based roles. It would really boost morale if more teams could experience the hybrid model consistently, not just a select few.

Okay Pay, But Benefits Need a Boost
Pros: As a Logistics Coordinator, the base salary here is pretty solid for the maritime industry. You get decent health insurance too. It's a stable, corporate gig.
Cons: The bonus structure isn't great, and retirement matching isn't what you'd see at other big companies. Raises are pretty small each year. Compensation for onsite roles in Houston, TX could be better.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the bonus structure and consider increasing 401k matching to stay competitive. Invest more in employee compensation across all roles, especially for experienced Logistics Coordinators.
