Solid, but slow-moving for Program Managers
Pros: Job security is a big plus here. As a Program Manager in the innovation sector, you generally feel safe in your role. It's a stable university-backed organization within the Singapore startup ecosystem.
Cons: Career growth can feel really slow. There aren't many quick promotions or big jumps. Sometimes the pay for venture building roles lags behind private firms.
Advice to Management: Please look into clearer career progression paths for your Program Managers. Also, keep an eye on compensation to stay competitive with other entrepreneurship organizations in Singapore.

Decent Hybrid Model, But Not Super Flexible
Pros: I liked the hybrid work arrangement; you get a couple of days WFH which is a big plus for avoiding the Singapore commute. It's nice to have that option for Program Executive roles, especially when juggling different incubation programs in the startup environment.
Cons: The 'flexible' part often means you still need to be available during specific core hours, even when working from home. It's tough to adjust your schedule last minute if something unexpected comes up, making true work-life balance a bit tricky sometimes.
Advice to Management: Consider empowering teams more to manage their own flexible hours, rather than strict core hour adherence. Real flexibility would boost morale for those in startup ecosystem roles.

Okay for startups, but career growth is slow
Pros: You get to meet a lot of interesting people in the local startup ecosystem and technology commercialization space. There's good exposure to different ventures. It's a stable environment, being part of an academic institution.
Cons: Career growth here is tough; promotions are infrequent, and internal mobility is very limited for many roles. If you're looking for a clear path to advance your career quickly, especially in the Singapore office, it's not the place for innovation roles. The pay isn't super competitive compared to private industry.
Advice to Management: Management needs to create clearer pathways for career progression and invest more in employee development programs. This would help retain talent in key innovation roles within the academic institution.
