Pros: I've learned so much working at POPULAR as a Retail Executive in Singapore. The team is really supportive, and it's a stable company in the retail and education services industry. I've had good opportunities to take on new responsibilities, especially with new product launches and store merchandising. It's a great place to understand the local book and stationery market. The colleagues are friendly, which makes the day-to-day work enjoyable.
Cons: While there are learning opportunities, the career progression for retail roles can feel a bit slow sometimes; it requires a lot of patience. The internal approval processes can also be a bit bureaucratic, which sometimes slows down implementing new ideas for store operations. Pay and benefits are decent but not exceptional for the industry. Communication from upper management could also be improved at times.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining approval processes and enhancing the transparency of career pathing for retail employees to keep them engaged and motivated.
