Pros: As a Process Engineer in Chicago, the base salary was pretty competitive for a mid-sized engineering consulting firm. I didn't feel underpaid for the work I was doing, especially with some opportunities for overtime on projects.
Cons: The benefits package isn't great, though. Health insurance premiums are high, and the 401k match is pretty weak compared to other process engineering companies. PTO also felt a bit stingy.
Advice to Management: Focus on improving the benefits package, especially reducing health insurance costs and increasing the 401k match. It would help with retention for engineering roles.

Pros: The team dynamic for us Process Engineers in the Houston, TX office was solid. People genuinely try to help each other out. There's a decent sense of camaraderie among colleagues, which makes the day-to-day pretty manageable.
Cons: Company culture leans very traditional. It's hard to get new ideas for process improvements off the ground. Innovation isn't really encouraged, which can be frustrating for those of us wanting to modernize old approaches.
Advice to Management: Management should really try to embrace more modern thinking. Listen to your technical staff about new process engineering methodologies. It'll help keep the company competitive and improve morale.
