Leadership is okay, but could be better
Pros: There's solid job security here for IT staffing roles, which is good. I've seen some decent internal mentorship opportunities, especially for junior Software Engineer positions. The benefits package is pretty solid for a mid-sized company in the Detroit area, which helps.
Cons: Leadership sometimes feels really out of touch with the day-to-day for technical teams. Decision-making often seems top-down without much input from people on the ground. Communication from upper management isn't always clear, making project goals fuzzy.
Advice to Management: Try to engage more with your tech teams and get real feedback before implementing major changes. Better transparency and communication would go a long way for morale and project success.

Culture is okay, but it's a sales grind
Pros: The people here are genuinely nice. I felt supported by my direct team members, which is good for an IT Recruiter. The Detroit office has some fun social events occasionally, which helps build connections.
Cons: The company culture feels very sales-driven. It's tough because metrics are always front and center in the staffing industry. This constant pressure can make work-life balance a real challenge.
Advice to Management: Try to balance the sales targets with initiatives that truly support employee well-being. A less intense focus on daily metrics might improve overall morale.

EPITEC: Project Work is Fine, Growth is Slow
Pros: I liked getting on different tech projects as an IT Consultant. It's good for building a diverse resume. The hybrid work model was also a plus, especially working from the Detroit, MI office.
Cons: Career growth is really tough here for consulting roles. There's no clear path for promotions or skill development. You often feel stuck without a roadmap, even with solid project placements.
Advice to Management: Create a clearer career development program for IT Consultants. Offer more internal training and mentorship opportunities. It would really help with retention in this mid-sized consulting firm.

Okay for staffing, needs more work flexibility
Pros: It's a solid mid-sized agency if you're looking for a tech staffing role. They do offer a hybrid model, which is nice – I was in the Detroit office a couple days a week. You get a good amount of autonomy as an IT Recruiter once you prove yourself.
Cons: True remote work isn't really an option, even for experienced people. The "flexibility" often meant just coming in earlier or staying later for calls. It felt less like a modern recruitment firm and more old school with office presence being key.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more genuine remote options, especially for top performers. The industry is moving towards more flexible arrangements, and it's something many in tech staffing value.

Work-Life Balance is a Grind for Recruiters
Pros: EPITEC is a good place to start if you're new to IT staffing; there's decent training and a solid team in the Detroit office. You'll definitely learn the ropes of contract placements quickly here.
Cons: The work-life balance as a Technical Recruiter is often pretty bad. It's common to work well over 50 hours a week, and disconnecting after hours is tough. The pressure to hit metrics really drives those long days.
Advice to Management: Management should seriously look at reducing the pressure that leads to such long hours for recruitment roles. It burns people out fast.

Decent culture for IT Consulting roles
Pros: The teams are really supportive, especially for IT consulting projects. I've worked with some smart folks in the Grand Rapids, MI office. There's a decent team spirit here, which helps a lot.
Cons: Management sometimes feels a bit disconnected from day-to-day operations. The hybrid work model could be more flexible; it's quite rigid. Communication on company direction isn't always clear, creating some uncertainty.
Advice to Management: Listen more to project teams and make hybrid work policies more flexible. Clearer communication on strategic goals would help too.

Decent Place, But Work-Life Balance Can Be Tricky
Pros: I liked the team in the Detroit office; everyone was pretty supportive. The hybrid work model helped sometimes, letting me work remotely a couple days a week. We had decent PTO, which was a plus for scheduling breaks.
Cons: As a Technical Recruiter, the pressure to hit numbers means long hours are common. It's tough to really disconnect, even with the hybrid setup. There's a lot of expectation to be 'always on' for client calls.
Advice to Management: Try to set clearer boundaries for after-hours communication. Encourage managers to really support employees taking their time off without guilt, especially for staffing roles.

Okay for a start, but job security is a concern.
Pros: EPITEC offers solid training if you're new to IT recruitment; you learn a lot about the talent acquisition space quickly. There's a pretty consistent pipeline of open positions, so you're always busy. It's a good entry point into the staffing firm world.
Cons: Job security for recruiters here can be really shaky, especially when the market for IT staffing slows down. You're constantly worried about your numbers and what that means for your role. There isn't a strong sense of protection if your performance dips even slightly.
Advice to Management: Try to provide more stability and support for your Technical Recruiters during market fluctuations. Clearer pathways for career advancement beyond just sales targets would also help with retention and overall morale.

Leadership is hit or miss at EPITEC
Pros: Some managers really get the staffing industry and support their Technical Recruiter teams. They're good at helping you hit targets and celebrate wins. It's nice having those few strong leaders.
Cons: The big issue is inconsistent leadership. You might have a great direct manager, but upper management sometimes lacks a clear vision, especially in the Detroit, MI office. This can make things confusing for recruitment firm employees.
Advice to Management: Work on developing a more consistent leadership style across all levels. Provide better training for managers on strategic direction and team support to reduce confusion.

Leadership's got some growing to do.
Pros: I liked my team in the Grand Rapids office a lot; they're supportive. As a Technical Recruiter, I had decent freedom to manage my own pipeline, which helps a lot in the IT staffing industry.
Cons: There's a real lack of clear direction from the top. Leadership can seem pretty out of touch with what's actually happening on the ground, especially regarding new initiatives. Sometimes, communication is just non-existent.
Advice to Management: Please try to communicate more clearly and consistently. Getting more involved with different departments would really help leadership understand the actual needs for those of us working with clients and candidates daily.
