Okay culture in a big Brazilian company
Pros: I liked working with my direct team. We had good camaraderie, which is important in the paper and pulp industry. There's a decent focus on safety in the manufacturing operations too.
Cons: The corporate environment can feel pretty siloed. It's hard to get things done sometimes due to bureaucracy. For us Process Engineers, innovation often moves slowly.
Advice to Management: Try to break down some of the internal silos. Encourage more cross-departmental collaboration to improve overall efficiency and morale.

Leadership is a mixed bag here
Pros: Some direct managers are genuinely supportive, especially for new hires in our São Paulo office. They help you learn the ropes in the pulp and paper industry. You can build solid relationships with your immediate team.
Cons: Upper management often feels out of touch with the ground-level Process Engineer roles. Decisions can be slow, and it's tough to get clear direction. There's a definite lack of transparent communication from the top.
Advice to Management: Focus on improving communication channels and listening more to feedback from those on the plant floor. Empower team leads to make decisions faster.

Klabin's Flexibility: It's Complicated, But Possible
Pros: Klabin does offer some hybrid work options if your manager is cool with it, especially for roles like a Production Planner. Being in the São Paulo office sometimes helps with coordination, but I've had a decent amount of leeway with my schedule. It's not rigid 9-5 every day.
Cons: True remote work isn't really a thing here; it's mostly an onsite work culture for most of the pulp and paper industry roles. Getting approval for real work flexibility can be a tough process sometimes, especially in this established corporate environment. It feels like we're a bit behind on modern work setups.
Advice to Management: You should really look into clearer guidelines for hybrid work and trust employees more. It would boost morale and make Klabin more competitive.
