Leadership has its moments, but needs work
Pros: Some senior leaders are really passionate about digital storytelling. They genuinely try to support the team, especially for us working in a remote environment. You can see they care about the product, which is a big plus.
Cons: Communication from top leadership is often vague and inconsistent. It's tough to get clear direction, which really hurts project timelines in this creative industry. There's a bit of a 'do as I say, not as I do' vibe too often.
Advice to Management: Focus on transparent communication and consistent decision-making. Clearer project goals would really help the creative teams thrive. We need more follow-through on stated initiatives.

Decent Pay, But Benefits Could Use a Boost
Pros: As a Game Developer, the base salary is pretty decent for a mid-sized gaming studio. You can expect a solid pay range, maybe $85k for an entry-level role, which is okay for Austin, TX. They cover basic health insurance, which is a plus.
Cons: However, the benefits package isn't competitive, especially when you look at bigger companies. Don't expect amazing bonuses or stock options. The health insurance has high deductibles, so out-of-pocket costs can add up fast. It's not the best for long-term financial planning.
Advice to Management: Seriously re-evaluate the benefits package. Better health insurance options and some form of profit sharing or stock options would help attract and retain top talent for all roles, especially for experienced Game Developers. Compensation isn't just about base salary.

Startup Life Means Shaky Job Security
Pros: It's a cool tech startup, and the work for Software Engineer roles is often innovative. If you're good, you usually stay busy. The Los Angeles office is pretty lively, so there's a good energy.
Cons: Job security isn't its strong suit. There are frequent project pivots and occasional team reshuffles that make you wonder. It's tough to feel fully settled when things change so fast.
Advice to Management: Try to communicate changes more clearly and give teams more notice. Stability helps morale a lot.
