Pros: The base salary for a Software Engineer here is actually pretty solid. It's competitive for the game development industry. Our healthcare plan is good, and the 401k match is decent. You also get fun perks, like free Riot Points or merch.
Cons: Stock options aren't as strong as other big tech companies, especially considering how well Riot does. Bonuses can feel a bit unpredictable, and salary bumps aren't super frequent for some roles. The hybrid work model means you're in the Los Angeles, CA office often, but the stipends for home office stuff aren't great.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the stock options and refreshers to be more competitive with other big tech companies. Transparency around bonus metrics would also help.

Pros: I've definitely learned a lot as an Associate Game Designer. There are tons of resources for game development, which is great. It's a solid place to deepen your skills in the gaming industry, especially in the Los Angeles office.
Cons: Career growth can feel pretty slow if you're not constantly pushing for it. For individual contributor roles at a big tech gaming company, moving up isn't always clear cut. There's not enough formal guidance on how to get that next promotion.
Advice to Management: Be clearer on promotion paths and provide more structured development plans for individual contributors. Help managers identify and nurture talent proactively to ensure better career growth for everyone.
