Leadership at Premier Advisory is a mixed bag
Pros: Some of the senior folks are genuinely invested in your development. As a Junior Consultant, I got to work on some cool client engagements and learn directly from partners. It's a solid way to build a foundation in advisory.
Cons: Leadership consistency is a real issue here. You don't always get clear direction from management, which makes project teams struggle sometimes. It's especially noticeable when you're looking for guidance in the New York City office.
Advice to Management: Focus on consistent communication across all leadership levels. Make time for junior staff, especially for those in strategy consulting roles, and improve mentorship programs. The hybrid work model needs clearer guidelines from leadership.

Solid Base Pay for Advisory Roles
Pros: The base salary as a Junior Consultant in the Chicago office was competitive for someone just starting out in the advisory services industry. You get paid on time, that's good.
Cons: Annual bonuses weren't super transparent or generous. Health benefits felt pretty expensive, especially for family plans. There isn't much wiggle room for negotiation on raises either.
Advice to Management: Look into improving the bonus structure and making health insurance more affordable. It'd really help with retention for folks in client-facing roles.

Decent for learning, but career path can be slow
Pros: As an Associate Consultant, you learn a lot really fast. They throw you into various client projects, which is great for getting hands-on experience in management consulting. The New York City office has some smart people to learn from, and the exposure to different industries is a big plus for career development.
Cons: Career growth for entry-level roles can feel pretty slow here. There isn't always a super clear path for promotion, and it often takes a lot of self-advocacy to move up. Formal mentorship programs specifically for career progression in advisory services could definitely be better.
Advice to Management: Create clearer promotion guidelines for junior staff. Invest more in formal mentorship programs for Associate Consultants to help with career progression within advisory services.

Solid projects, but slow career growth
Pros: As a Junior Consultant, I got to dive into some really interesting client projects. It's a good place to learn the ropes in the financial services consulting industry. You definitely pick up useful skills fast.
Cons: Career progression is pretty vague for strategy roles; there's no clear path forward. It feels like you're stuck unless you aggressively seek out opportunities and constantly network in the Boston office. Not much formal mentorship available.
Advice to Management: Establish clearer career progression paths for Junior Consultants, especially for strategy roles. Implement a formal mentorship program and transparent promotion criteria. This would really help people see a future here.
